An excerpt from a recent Hartford Courant article by Denise Coffey about our work in schools to build literacy skills for students.

It begins:

"Fourteen preschool students sat in a semicircle around Teresa Whitaker and Frank Schwartz, at the Elementary School. Whitaker and Schwartz, storytellers with the Connecticut Storytelling Center, were making their first appearance in the class. The students were clearly pleased with the novelty. They leaned forward and listened as Whitaker explained what they planned to do.

It was so much more than just telling a story."
